V-Ray is a 3D rendering software that is compatible with most major digital content creation applications including Autodesk’s 3ds Max, Maya and Revit, Trimble’s SketchUp, McNeel’s Rhino, and Foundry’s Modo, Nuke and Katana.
V-Ray is also available for
Houdini, Unreal, Cinema 4D, Blender, and formZ.
The latest version of V-Ray comes with all the most cutting edge graphics rendering technology available today and many blockbuster films have been created using V-Ray Engine. This includes mega hits such as Iron Man, several X-Men films and Mad Max: Fury Road.
SYSTEM RECOMMENDATIONS:
V-Ray is capable of some of the most advanced 3D rendering possible with modern computer hardware. As such it can make full use of multiple CPU threads and the CUDA cores found in modern Nvidia graphics cards. So in general this software will benefit from upgrades all the way to the very top of the hardware range. Which as you would expect means that the fastest workstations we offer also provide the best experience in Vray, especially when it comes down to speeding up final renders. V-Ray Workstations will benefit significantly from custom liquid cooling solutions for both CPU and GPU as it will maximize the performance per core of each component.
There are some exceptions to this however, since not everyone completes their entire 3D rendering workflow on a single workstation. Lower specified machines with fast single core performance and only mid-range graphics hardware can be used to work with wireframe models where only animation and other scene-setting work is to be done. These frameworks can then be passed on to more powerful machines or even render farms for final processing. The machine you therefore choose should be suitable for the parts of the workflow it will be used for.
