The faster you can move heat out fo the system, the better your performance and power efficiency will be, at least until we figure out room-temperature computing, which is still in the realm of science fiction.
When Do We Get It?
While Samsung has wrapped up the development of GDDR7, it will be some time before we see it in actual products. We anticipate it debuting in the wild sometime next year (2024) once key customers have had the opportunity to trial it in their next-gen systems.
